“Het scenario zit zo dicht op de alledaagse werkelijkheid van de
personages, dat het onderscheid tussen speelfilm en documentaire
nagenoeg vervalt. Het gebruik van dramatische middelen is minimaal,
desondanks boeit het verhaal van begin tot eind en blijven de personages
en de verontrustende wereld waarin zij proberen te overleven de
toeschouwer nog lang door het hoofd spoken .”
Uiteindelijk won Helena van der Meulen met haar scenario voor Joy.
De muziek van Ernst Reijseger die hij voor C’est deja L’ete componeerde was ook genomineerd en werd wel beloond met het goudgekleurde kalf!

Brussels Film Festival - A partner of the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion
The Brussels Film festival, from 23 to 26 June has as for purpose to reveal and to promote European cinematography and to stimulate the development of this film industry worldwide. The Festival also brings European productions closer to the public and encourages professionals.
In the context of the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion, a special award was presented to the European film which clearly contributes to raising awareness on the issues of poverty and social exclusion and which conveys the messages of the European Year.
The film selected for this award is “C’est déjà l’été” co-produced by the Netherlands and Belgium and directed by Martijn Smits.
The award ceremony will take place on 28 June in the presence of the Film Director Martijn Smits and the European Commission. The “Endless Counting” video clip made by the Commission for the European Year will preceed the screening of the winning movie.

Samen met Joke Liberge schrijf ik het scenario voor een One Night Stand 6 film,
met als werktitel “Herta goes Home”.
Betrokken omroep is de NPS in de persoon van Anita Voorham.
Producent is Waterland film.

Na de succesvolle en goed bezochte vertoningen op het Rotterdam Film Festival is CDL
uitgenodigd voor meerdere internationale filmfestivals. En dat is natuurlijk leuk.
